Can we setup an advanced search using existing WP's. If so could you please explain how to do it. And explain how users can select some specified collection when they search??

The Result List Web part lets you specify the Search View to use for processing queries. All search views defined for the ESP instance to which you are connected will be displayed in the dropdown list. The Result List Web part also provides 3 pre-defined templates to control search behavior: These are “any word”, “all words” and “exact phrase”. If you need some other behavior you can define your own search template or even extend the Query Builder factory method which builds the query.

You could also extend the Search Box Web part to provide dropdown lists allowing the user to select the Search View or the search template or even a search field (for fielded search) and then pass these values through to the Result List Web part. However, this would required some custom programming.
